Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the hands-on mobilization of muscles, tendons, ligaments and fasciae in order to reduce muscle spasms, increase circulation, release trigger points and prevent muscle adhesions and scar tissue formation. It could entail applying static or dynamic pressure such as holding, oscillating, rocking, friction, kneading and compression, primarily by using the hands and sometimes the forearm or elbow. These "table" techniques are used to stimulate the musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, among other systems of the body.
Massage therapy is known to promote healing and have a positive influence on the overall mental and physical health and well-being of the patient:
- Swedish Massage
- Trigger Point Release
- Fascia Work (Top part of soft tissue)
- Joint Play (Gentle oscillation of joint)
