Tendinitis
Tendinitis (or tendinopathy) is irritation or degeneration of a tendon, the rope-like tissue that attaches muscle to bone. It can affect any tendon in the body, but the most common spots are the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, and ankle. Modern research shows that progressive loading, not rest, is what heals tendons. We’ll guide that loading.
What Tendinitis feels like
- Stiffness, tenderness and pain at the site of the tendon and surrounding area
- Pain with movement of muscles and tendons
- Swelling of the tendon
- Loss of motion in the shoulder
Common causes of Tendinitis
- Incorrect posture at work or home
- Poor stretching or conditioning before exercise
- Overuse injuries to tendons
- Tendons can also become inflamed after a traumatic injury
